Huawei Nova 9 SE is now heading to global markets

Huawei may be struggling to try to find ways to bypass the US ban and keep its smartphones relevant in this overly-competitive market. There is a promise for future 5G smartphones, but while that does not happen, the company keeps launching flagships without 5G in a bid to remain competitive. Unfortunately, it has lost ground even in its domestic market, while its former sub-brand, Honor, free from the ban ties is shining. Despite this, Huawei is still around and launched its very first smartphone with a 108 MP camera in China last week. We’re talking about the Huawei Nova 9 SE. Just one week after the launch of this device in China, it’s starting its global journey.

Huawei has just listed the Huawei Nova 9 SE up for reservations with a €349 retail price. The pre-sale period is life until March 27, and the buyers who deposit 10 Euros will get a 50 Euros discount from the final price. The handset comes in Black and Blue colorways. It will gradually expand to more markets.

Huawei Nova 9 SE alleged specifications

The Huawei Nova 9 SE is quite similar to the Huawei Nova 9, but that isn’t a surprise as they’re part of the same family. The biggest differences remain in the key specifications. The phone has a 6.78-inch display and that is an LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, it’s larger than a 6.57-inch screen on the vanilla Huawei Nova 9. However, the latter takes certain advantage. After all, it packs an OLED panel with up to a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The Huawei Nova 9 SE comes with a Quad-Camera setup. The primary snapper is the aforementioned 108 MP snapper, and it’s a 1/1.52″ main camera sensor. The phone also has an 8 MP ultrawide snapper and two 2 MP modules for macro and depth data. The selfie camera on the Huawei Nova 9 SE is down to 16 MP. Huawei went with the 4G-only version of the Snapdragon 680 chipset at the helm. To those unaware, this is basically a revamped Snapdragon 665 with a 6 nm manufacturing process. Therefore, energy consumption is much more efficient. However, don’t expect much performance as the GPU is just an Adreno 619.

The handset draws its powers from a 4,000 mAh battery. That’s not the largest battery in the current standards, but at least is no on the sub-4000 mAh department. Thankfully, the phone charges fast with 66W charging.

In case you don’t know, the Snapdragon 680 only has 4G connectivity.
