How Paulo Dybala could look at Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham with Argentine forward set to leave Juventus on a free transfer

Signing elite-level strikers is an expensive business, especially when you’re shopping in the super premium aisle.

Forwards such as Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane are always going to cost top dollar, but in Paulo Dybala there’s a few Premier League clubs who are licking their lips ahead of the summer transfer window.

Dybala could have some big decisions to make this summer

The Juventus star is facing an uncertain future with his contract at the Italian giants due to expire at the end of the season.

Reports have suggested that the player has no intention of penning a new agreement at the club, meaning he will be available on a free transfer in the summer.

As a result, clubs are starting to circle as they eye an almighty bargain for the 28-year-old.

Wages and bonuses will be a costly business, but a player being available for free in the supposed peak years of their career doesn’t happen often, so it won’t be a surprise to see clubs pulling together an offer for the player.

Several others are likely to be keen, but the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the Argentina international, but how do such football powerhouses fit another star into their ranks?

Fear not, talkSPORT.com has had a go at cracking the case…

Liverpool

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is spoilt for choice in attacking areas and the arrival of Dybala would add to their plethora of talent.

Liverpool’s back line already has the perfect blend of defensive solidity and front-footed creativity, while the midfield trio of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara offer the perfect foundation from which to counter with speed and tenacity.

Going on the basis that Mohamed Salah stays, as that can of worms needs to stay firmly shut, Klopp could opt to use Luis Diaz and the Egyptian on either flank, with Dybala lining up in attack.

While renowned for being a second striker, the 28-year-old could be the perfect addition to this team by slotting into the false nine role that would see him link up with the midfield while allowing the wide attackers to run in behind.

Manchester United

It could be a summer of substantial change at Old Trafford with the club’s top brass looking for a new permanent head coach and there could be a new-look side on show too.

Paul Pogba is out of contract this summer, as is Edinson Cavani, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is also said to be in doubt with the Portuguese star unlikely to stick around without Champions League football.

That could be the perfect situation to allow Dybala to come in and be the main man.

Flanked by Marcus Rashford, as well as in-form Jadon Sancho, Dybala’s ability to drop deep and pitch in, while also possessing that crucial eye for goal, could make him an ideal fit for United next term.

Tottenham

Antonio Conte has made it clear that he’s looking to revamp the squad this summer, but if Dybala does join Tottenham then there’s only one person that he’d be replacing.

Harry Kane was heavily linked with a move away from Spurs last summer with Manchester City said to be keen, but despite finding his form of late, north London side are outsiders to finish in the top four means that they could face another battle to keep him.

Dybala is a central attacking player, so wouldn’t fit anywhere else in Conte’s 3-4-3 system, meaning that the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield, and Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski in the wide areas should be safe.

If Kane does stick around then it’s unlikely that Dybala will make the move to Tottenham as he’s someone who deserves to be a regular starter, but should the England captain move on then the 28-year-old could be the perfect replacement.
