Man City vs Liverpool has gripped us all and there’s nothing to separate the players with Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne among the stunning talent

A mouth-watering double header awaits in April as Manchester City and Liverpool meet twice in the space of a week.

In what’s going to be a truly manic month, City and Liverpool go toe-to-toe in the Premier League on April 10 in what some are viewing as the decider in the title race.

Both sides are in action in the Champions League quarter-finals three days later before they lock horns again, this time at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals.

A busy schedule indeed but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp insists he and his players are relishing the challenge.

“We only have big weeks if I’m 100 per cent honest,” Klopp told talkSPORT.

“We have Watford, Benfica, City… Benfica, City, United and Everton.

“There’s a lot coming up but that’s why we do all the things we do – to be in decisive moments, to be in very interesting positions and that’s what we are in at the moment.

“We don’t have anything yet but we have our hand in all big decisions in the moment.”

When the two sides face each other a number of big stars will be on show. But just how good would they be if you brought the teams together? talkSPORT.com has had a go at combining Man City and Liverpool’s XIs.

Every position was a tough decision, but here goes. In goal, we’ve gone for Alisson over Ederson. Both Brazilians are locked on 16 Premier League clean sheets so far this season but Alisson edges it on account of 21 clean sheets in all competitions to Ederson’s 19.

The defence would be built on vibrant full-back play and two very solid centre-backs, which are Virgil van Dijk and Ruben Dias.

At left-back we’ve gone for Joao Cancelo, who’s arguably been the standout defender in the top flight this season – apologies to Andy Robertson, who’s been great this term. Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the right as he leads the way in the league’s assist charts this season with 11.

The likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri, Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson deserve a shout out but in our midfield three is Fabinho, Kevin De Bruyne, and Bernardo Silva, who have been brilliant this season.

Up front we have Mohamed Salah, the top scorer in the Premier League this season. Enough said. Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling is out on the left having made a good recovery after a slow start to the season.

The central role was somewhat up for grabs with Pep Guardiola opting not to play an out-and-out striker on many occasions this season, while Jurgen Klopp’s system is built on a thriving false nine. But we’ve gone for the Premier League’s second-highest goalscorer this season Diogo Jota to lead this line.
